Germany Leaves Training in Power

Christiane's Personal Resignation

Open Letters to Faye Fitzgerald, Founder of Training in Power

Christiane: Update 2007

A bit of history.  The German Training in Power community had grown over the years to 80-100 members around 1998.  Faye and a few teachers were able to travel to Germany to build the student body.  The highest level taught there was Level 4 by Faye, with a small few from the US and Canada teaching Level 1, Level 2 and the children's courses.  Going to Germany was a major event for us as well as for the German community.   Our time there was filled morning til late night, with classes, meetings, healings, and parties.  We had fun, we developed many friendships.

Christiane was the first German student and made the development of the German Training in Power community possible by hosting US and Canadian Teachers and organizing all classes, meetings and parties and social events.  She often visited North America for Board meetings, retreats and class work that  was only offered in the US or Canada.  Christiane and the German community were a cherished part of Training in Power.  With the creation of a Board of Directors and much time and effort, the German community became an official German non-profit organization called "Essence of Life".

Christiane is a person of strong integrity and hard work,  as are the German people she brought into the training.  She worked for many years to identify and address issues in the training regarding representation, respect, and the right to speak freely.  She was basically deflected with training rhetoric and directed back to herself; these 'issues' where only her issues.  As Lead in Germany, she protected younger levels from any exposure to the turmoil this caused.

After several years, when younger levels were placed on the new board, Christiane continued to work in private with the US and Canadian boards and upper level leadership about these issues.  It became intolerable to be isolated in this way, and finally,  as Executive Director, she enlisted the German board members to address these issues with her. The result was that not only were their questions and requests for information basically ignored, but they were admonished for their attempts.  This didn't go over well in a culture where respect and open speech is very valued.  They continued to try, until the indifference made it obvious that no solution would be forthcoming.  Thus their powerful letter, in which the whole German community leaves Training in Power.  Christiane follows with her own personal resignation and 2 open letters to Faye Fitzgerald.

The heartbreak of watching this community's process to dissolve after all those years of beloved friendship and hard work is beyond words.
