What I Have Learned
Robyn 7/10/07

Introduction

I have been gone from Training in Power for over two years now. Going through the usual phases in the grief cycle, I have for the most part come to terms with it. What follows is what I have learned from the experience of being a member of Training in Power. The first section is specific about Training in Power itself; a bit of a lexicon of terms that were used and memories of what I went though during the five years I spent in the cult.

The second section is lessons I have learned personally. I have made many positive changes due directly to my participation in Training in Power. Some positives do come out of darker moments. My hope is to demystify terms used and shed light on teachings that we were told never to speak about in the open or we could make people sick. The opposite is the truth.

What follows is really a snapshot as I am still coming to terms with the scars that I have been left with. I not only want to talk about what went wrong but the fact that I may be stronger, not so much for it, but that I never did give my own power away. There definitely is life after Training in Power.

                                                            What I Have Learned:

About Training in Power

1. Training in Power started out as an experiment. To this day it remains only as an experiment. The Founder repeatedly told this to her "students", that we were her guinea pigs. I know I was caught up in the novelty of being one of the first ones to gain this special knowledge. The Founder was charismatic, it sounded good, even though it was an experiment. I know better these days.

2. The majority of what is taught in Training in Power can be found in books. Level 1 and 3 are based on Buddhism, level 2, Shamanism. Levels 4-6 are her own teachings that the Founder told us she came back to earth to teach. It was her mission this time around. I have found some of what she taught throughout levels 4-6 in books, much of it I haven't been able to verify and really does sound crazy when you talk about it. This information is false and simply doesn't work.

3. When I first met the Founder I could tell she was indeed gifted. She did prove herself during level 1. The hook for me is when she said "All cons are psychic, but not all psychics are cons." In my naivety I believed that if she was saying this then she couldn't be conning me. That, plus the fact of the name "Training in Power -Spiritual Journey of Service". At the time I believe that if you were psychic or intuitive and said you were spiritual, you had to be telling the truth. I am wiser these days.

4. In level 4 we were taught a system of "Tandeming". To multiply the strength of our own power by the number of people we tandemed with, squared. We were taught we could do amazing things with the tandem as it was such a great force.

In actuality it was a way to keep track of all the "students" in the Training. I also experienced the true nature of the Tandem at one our "Addressment Meetings" for the students. There were a number of upper levels at the front, including myself and it was our job to clear each student of blocks they were experiencing.

As I am intuitive I found that when I tandemed with the supervisor and in turn the supervisor connected with the student. I not only "read" the student, I read the supervisor as she was interpreting the information she was receiving from the student. It sounds crazy and it is.
During one meeting I remember the Founder telling us that her greatest revenge was, whatever (hell) she was experiencing, we would all soon experience it, as it would be passed down the tandem.

5. Every month, as told above, there would be "addressment meetings" for the students. This is where much of the verbal and emotional abuse took place, as well as brainwashing. Students were treated like children and the upper levels acted as if they were the only ones that knew what was going on. I was yelled at during one such meeting; told I was being stubborn in most of them. All of this was done for our own good. I personally feel that it is just disguised way of telling people off.

6. During Level 1 students are taught the premise of Free Will, like it was an original term. At present, I have a few Jewish friends and have found out that Free Will is a Judaic term.

7. "Severe Instruction" taught in level 4 and "The Vow of Silence” taught in level 3 are great ways to keep the students quiet about possible illegal and abusive activity. We were told that because of our increased vibration, talking about that knowledge would be too dangerous for lower levels, as well as outsiders. We would be held responsible if they became sick and it would be part of our karma.

8. During level 6 retreats the Founder told us she was "The Rememberer", the only one on the planet that has the special knowledge humankind needs. The "Rememberer" is here to save the world. A "Rememberer" is exactly that, someone who remembers. Not as the Founder considers it, The Second Coming, as she had professed to be a couple of times during my time in the Training.

9. It is my opinion that level 4 needs to be made illegal, as it is extremely dangerous. The teachings in level 4 to me are useless and the "healing" in level 4 is about cleaning up someone else’s psyche (psychic surgery). I have witnessed the trauma this level has caused to many members.

10. A few of the "tools" I learned at the beginning I have kept and do come in handy. I have verified them in numerous sources. And of course, the Founder had to include some truth in amongst the lies to keep us in the program.

About Myself

1. Spirituality is a gift, my link to my Higher Power and is totally free.

2. I listen to my instincts, that inner voice, as it has never steered me wrong.

3. My greatest gifts are my stubbornness, determination and authenticity.

4. I have a right to act on my instincts, and to leave any situation I deem dangerous or abusive. I also have the right to tell and warn others about those situations. (Training in Power specifically.)

5. We are all equal. I do not have to put up with prejudices of any kind. I have learned to speak the truth, on the behalf of others and for myself.

6. There are certain situations where I needed to leave and didn't, for example:

During a level 3 class Jan Walker suddenly said "Now we (the students) could be of some use to the Training." Up until then, I was involved in the Training for myself and was unaware of any other motives the Teacher had. *During the "Battle" at a level 6 retreat Faye asked an upper level if they would die for her that night if necessary. The upper level said "Yes". Now, I wouldn't walk out, I would run.

7. Not to accept being spoon fed information or treated as lesser than. All of us were given information when the Founder thought we were ready (when she needed more money). I now am treated fairly and demand to know all pertinent information upfront. If I have to guess, I have a right to leave.

8. I am an intuitive individual and know my gifts and what I can do. I don't have to rely on someone like the Founder or other upper levels to tell me how I am, or how to use my gifts. The Founder doesn't hold all the cards.

And Finally

1. Training in Power does attract very sane and compassionate people. In fact people who work in the helping fields are specifically targeted. Through the cult I have indeed met some wonderful, kind-hearted individuals, many of which have also left the cult.

2. It has been a learning curve and it has also meant great loss. They were like family to me for a time. Some I called friends that I no longer have contact with, for the brainwashing.

3. By leaving Training in Power I have neither died, gone crazy or lost any vibration. Those are only scare tactics to try to keep the students in line. I have truly gone on with my life and treat everyone I meet in a more loving, compassionate and genuine manner.
